Uganda Female footballer Sandra Nabweteme has signed her first professional contact after joining Thor/Ka FC in Iceland.
The lethal striker who has been studying at the South West Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) in USA signed a two-year deal to join the two-time Iceland Women’s football Champions.
Nabweteme took to her Facebook page and expressed delight about the deal.
“Happy to announce that I signed my first professional soccer contract with Thor/Ka of Iceland. I am so excited and I can’t wait to get to work man!!!I also signed with Felkrem sports agency to manage my professional career for the upcoming years. I want to thank God for this blessing and everybody who has been with me through it all and has helped me reach this point of my life! ITS A DREAM COME TRUE FOR ME

Nabweteme made her mark at Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, helping the team to two FUFA Women Elite League Championships (2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons) where she was the top scorer with 17 and 23 goals respectively.
She was also named the FUFA Female footballer of the year in 2015 before moving to the USA the following year.
While pursuing her studies, she has also had the opportunity to feature for the University team, racking up several records.
For instance, on 18th November 2019, Nabweteme netted a hat trick as SWOSU outwitted Southern Nazarene 4-0, to take her goal tally to 76 and become the all-time top scorer, breaking Almata Rabo’s record of 74 goals.
Last year, she was named the Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Year and the MVP of the GAC Tournament after leading her team to both the regular season and postseason conference championships.
She was also the all-time leader in goals scored, assists and points in the conference and ranked fourth in Division II last season with 22 goals.
Nabweteme also became the first SWOSU player to be named an All-Central Region selection in four consecutive seasons.
