Despite Uganda qualifying for the last two editions of the Africa Nations Cup finals, the hunger to go again remains the same according to Cranes forward Emmanuel Okwi.
The Egypt based forward missed the 2017 edition through injury but played at the 2019 edition scoring two goals.
Ahead of the game against Burkina Faso that could seal Uganda’s qualification for the tournament in Cameroon, Okwi says all players are still hungry for the same.
“This is a very massive game. It’s a huge game for everyone,” Okwi told the press on Tuesday. “I have been lucky to be at the last edition but I think the spirit, the fight is still the same. It’s never easy and we need to fight and make sure we qualify again,” he added.
“It is very important as a country to keep that continuation of qualifying for the tournament.”
Okwi is expected to lead the hunt for the desired goals on the afternoon at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende as Uganda aims to dislodge Burkina Faso from the summit of Group B.
