Maroons players celebrate one of their 6 goals against Terrazo and Tiles at the Prisons Stadium, Luzira

2021 Uganda Cup Round of 32 (2nd Leg Results):

  • Maroons 6-0 Terrazo and Tiles (Aggregate:Maroons win 7-1)
  • Busoga United 1-2 Vipers (Aggregate: Vipers win 5-1)
  • Mbarara City 0-1 URA (Aggregate: URA wins 1-0)
  • MYDA 3-1 Proline (Aggregate: Proline wins 5-4)
  • BUL 2-0 Blacks Power (Aggregate: BUL wins 4-0)

Maroons Football Club progressed to the round of 16 for the 2021 Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The achievement came after a resounding 6-0 home win over Mbarara based Terrazo and Tiles in the return leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 played at the Luzira Prisons stadium on Friday, 9th April 2021.

Former Uganda U-17 and U-20 international Pius Obuya led the assault with a brace.

The other four goals were scored by Derrick Mudali, Abraham Tusubira, Fred Amaku as well as another U-17 and U-20 national team graduate Emmanuel Olinga.

Mudali gave the home side the lead on 11 minutes, thanks to Godwin Kitagenda’s assist.

Olinga made it two on the half hour mark with a well drilled kick from penalty spot to lead the opening stanza 2-0.

Obuya scored the third goal before assisting Tusubira for the fourth in the 58th minute.

Two minutes later, Obuya chipped for the 5th goal before Amaku applied the icing on the cake with a quarter an hour to play.

Since the first leg ended one goal apiece between these two clubs, Maroons thus qualified 7-1 on aggregate.

The Uganda Prisons funded side joins other successful clubs to the round of 16 as BUL, Vipers, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and Proline.

BUL progressed 4-0 on aggregate at the expense of Blacks Power, Vipers won 5-1 on aggregate over Busoga United, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) edged Mbarara City 1-0 on aggregate and Proline were 5-4 winners over Malaba Youth Development Association (MYDA) on aggregate.

Meanwhile, the round of 32 return leg matches continue on Saturday, 10th April 2021 with several matches.

Express hosts Kyetume at the Mutesa II Wankulukuku Stadium. The first leg played at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru ended 2 goals apiece.

Mbale based Kataka carries a 1-0 goal advantage to Tooro United at the Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal.

Paidha Black Angels will visit Kavumba to play Soltilo Bright Stars as UPDF hosts Arua Hill at the Army Barracks Stadium in Bombo.
