Busoga United Football Club center forward Isaac Wagoina is excited having scored his first ever goal for the team.
Wagoina’s goal that officially opened his account at the club was a well headed strike off Ivan Wani’s curling corner kick against the reigning UPL champions Vipers in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Although Busoga United eventually lost the match, 2-1 to bow out 5-1 on aggregate, Wagoina was delighted for his personal feat.
“I felt good having scored against Vipers Sports Club. It was my first goal at the club and I want to remain composed, hard working to maintain the form” he said.
Wagoina joined Busoga United in February 2021 from third tier side Iganga United.
He has also previously played for Kyadondo and Bunha counties in the Buganda and Busoga Masaza cup tournaments.
Wagoina believes that with more playing time, he will play well and help the club attain higher strides.
“I want to get as much playing time as possible. I am focused to perform well and score more goals so that the club achieves its targets as well as my personal ones” he adds.
Busoga United face Vipers during match day 17 of the 2021 Uganda Premier League this Tuesday, 13th April 2021 at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
