Mbale Heroes Football Club secured their first victory of the 2021 FUFA Big League season (Elgon group) with a 1-0 win away to Maroons at the Prisons stadium in Luzira.

Joel Male scored the solitary goal on the evening for the maximum points.

Male’s goal arrived in the 35th minute as Mbale Heroes defended the strike gallantly to return home gallantly.

This was the first win for Mbale Heroes who have a new coach, Hussein Kheri in place.

Kheri replaced Bobic Odowa who had a dismissal start to the season.

This was Maroons’ second loss in the row following last week’s 2-1 defeat away to newly promoted Calvary at the AbaBet GreenLight Stadium, Arua.

Meanwhile, Paidha Black Angels remains win-less after yet another slip, losing 1-0 to Gaddafi at their own fortress (Bar Okoro stadium, Zombo).

James Otim scored Gaddafi’s only goal on the day.

Blacks Power fell at home, 1-0 to visiting Kataka from Mbale at the Emokori play ground in Bukedea.

Arua Hill registered a 1-0 win against Calvary at the Barifa stadium in Arua with Allan Mugalu on target for Hussein Mbalangu’s side.

Rwenzori Group:

Tooro United convincingly beat Ndejje University 3-1 to maintain the summit position of Rwenzori group in the FUFA Big League 2021 at the Buhinga stadium, Fort Portal.

Abdul Karim Kasule starred with a brace on the evening and Marvin Oshaba added the via a well struck penalty.

Vincent Abigaba netted the consolation for Ndejje University.

Edward Golola’s side now has 12 points, three ahead of second placed Proline.

Proline had edged league debutants Luwero United 1-0 on Saturday, 17th April 2021 at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

10 man Kigezi Home Boyz recovered from a goal down to overcome Nyamityobora 2-1 at the Kabale Municipal Stadium.

Clinton Kamugisha gave Nyamityobora the lead in the first half before Norman Namanya and Dickson Niwamanya Kihanga replied for Kigezi Home Boyz.

Kigezi Home Boyz’s Robert Santos Baluku was sent off in the 58th minute for unsporting conduct.

Water beat newcomers Terrazo and Tiles 2-1 at the Kavumba Recreational Stadium, Wakiso.

Match Day 6:

A total of eight matches will be played on match day 6 next week on Wednesday, 21st April 2021 and on the subsequent day.

Kataka entertains Maroons at the Mbale Municipal Stadium on Wednesday before Nyamityobora will entertain Water at Kakyeka Stadium.

On Thursday, 22nd April 2021, Arua Hill plays Gaddafi in Arua city, Calvary shall entertain Paidha Black Angels at the Aba Bet Green Light stadium, Mbale Heroes host Blacks Power at the Mbale Municipal Stadium.

Luwero United will host Tooro United at the Kosovo ground, Kasaana in Luwero and Proline takes on Ndejje University at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Three clubs will be promoted to the 2021-22 Uganda Premier League.

Of these  three, two earn direct berths from each of the groups (Rwenzori and Elgon).

The third club is determined via a promotional play-off. For the first time since the FUFA Big League inception, a game in every match day is televised live.
