Bombers' boxers receive cash from Steven Sembuya in Kyanja

Steven Sembuya Mugula owns a boxing entity; Zzana Boxing Club, is a shrewd businessman and philanthropist.

Sembuya is also Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kyanja based Africa Chocolate Company (formerly Pink Foods).

On Friday, April 23, 2021, Sembuya has donated cash to the boxing family to assist in their various endeavors.

The cluster of boxers include those preparing to represent Uganda at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan as well as the professionals who have not been actively involved in the sport because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are recognizing the Olympics bound boxers and the other boxers in the industry for their effort and assist them in the preparations ahead of the upcoming engagements. We also call upon the rest of the corporate family to come out and support the athletes in such trying times.

The Bombers’ team comprising of captain Musa Shadir Bwogi, David Ssemujju and Catherine Nanziri received a total kitty of Shs 2,000,000 to assist them in the preparations.

The other cluster of beneficiaries are Shafiq Kiwanuka, Natib Muwonge, Lt. Aldina Muzeei, Isaac Masembe and Hellen Baleke.

Baleke and Masembe each received Shs. 500,000 whilst Kiwanuka, Lt. Muzeei and Muwonge pocketed Shs. 250,000 each.

Sembuya also promised to reward the medalists at the upcoming Olympics with Shs. 3,000,000 for gold, Shs. 2,000,000 for silver and Shs. 1,000,000 for bronze.

While acknowledging the offer, Bombers’ captain Bwogi applauded the generosity of Sembuya for the offer that will push them an extra mile in preparations.

Reigning African super heavy weight champion Shafik Kiwanuka and Baleke added their voices of appreciation;

“I thank the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of African Chocolate Company, the media, my training team, the Bombers and fellow boxers” Kiwanuka disclosed.

The well attended event was also graced by Cranmer Brandon Mutalya, a co-director African Chocolate Company Limited.
