Fufa’s request to government to complete the 2020/21 season has been given another lifeline by Caf following the release of the Interclub season for 2021/22 season.

The league, Stanbic Uganda Cup and the Fufa Big League were indefinitely suspended due to a presidential directive that put sports events under lockdown.

But even after 42 days that literally ends on July 30, the extension of player registration to August 15 means the league and Stanbic Cup winners can be determined sportingly unlike last season.

League winners represent the country at the Caf Champions League while Cup winners carry the nation’s flag in the Caf Confederation Cup.

Below is the Full Statement on the Interclub 2021/22 season:

CAF has released the 2021/22 interclub season schedule including the information relating to the list of countries who will be allowed to enter two clubs in the 2021/22 season.

The 2021/22 season will kick-off on 10 September 2021 with the first round of the Preliminaries.

The group stages will start next year, February 2022.

The 12 highest ranked national associations, according to the ranking of CAF, will be allowed to engage two clubs in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions league 2021/22 and the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2021/22.

The countries are: (according to their ranking) Algeria, Angola, RD Congo, Egypt, Guinea, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia and Zambia.
