ephania Arinaitwe batting against Nigeria

With the continued ban on sports activities in Uganda, the situation has left many players locked up.

However, the activity next door is an opportunity for some of our local players to stay active and in touch ahead of a grilling and long final quarter of the year.

The Nairobi Provincial League which kicked off last week continues this weekend with Kenneth Waiswa, Zephaniah Arinaitwe and Brian Masaba featuring for Ruaraka Sports Club.

Waiswa is excited about the opportunity.

“It’s an opportunity I welcome with both hands, I feel its the start of many more good things to come. I am going there to enjoy my cricket, express myself and my abilities to the maximum,” he told Kawowo Sports.

The three will be able to get some action as they also make an impression for their teammates. This opportunity will mean they can stay match fit ahead of their international season.

In the past other players Roger Mukasa and Charles Waiswa have featured for Stray Lions in Nairobi.

Kenyan Internationals such as Collins Obuya, Shem Ngoche, Alex Obanda have also featured in the Ugandan local league.

Denis has represented Uganda in international cricket events including the World Cup. He is currently the captain of Wanderers Cricket Club.
