Olympia Sports Academy and 23 other academies were some of the newly admitted members by the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA).

UYFA’s 19th executive committee meeting that convened at Kenendia Hotel – Katwe in Kampala made the resolution to admit these academies.

Founded on 17th October 2020, Olympia Sports Academy is based in Lubowa, along Entebbe-Kampala Highway and has about 200 children engaged in football, basketball, tennis and swimming.

We as Olympia Sports Academy are so glad to be accredited by Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA). We are a new sports academy but as a team of professionals have we been in sports field more than 10 years. We are ready to cooperate with federations, sports institutions or any entrepreneurs to promote sports in Uganda.

The tag-line for Olympia Sports Academy is “Practice for your dreams” with a mission to reach out, groom and nurture new talents in society.

Olympia Sports Academy’s vision is to be the best sports academy that inspires young athletes to reach their dreams through sports under the core values of positive attitude, leadership, excellence, good character and teamwork.

The other 22 academies admitted were; Bukomansimbi Eagles Soccer Academy, Mbale Tigers Soccer Academy, Lukaaya Soccer Academy, Iteen Soccer Academy, Spot the Talent Football Academy, Calvary Soccer Academy, Wakiso Soccer Academy, Ubuntu Soccer Foundation Academy, Inspire Talented Soccer Academy, West Nile Rhino Sports Club Academy, Eleos Soccer Academy Gganda, Summer Kids Football Academy, Re-Raise Child Foundation Soccer Academy, Skill Line Academy, Mbale Soccer Academy, Wonder Ants Soccer Academy, MYDEL Soccer Academy, Excellent Soccer Academy, Toto Football Academy, Success Angels Soccer Academy, SOM Football Academy, Taquwa Soccer Academy and Divine Athletic Soccer Academy.

Meanwhile, six academies were left in pending mode as they are monitored to fulfil the requirements needed.

These were; Minerals Soccer Academy, Rise and Shine Football Academy, LOCONA Soccer Academy, Wagagai Warriors Soccer Academy, Go Ahead Eagles Academy and Divine Athletic Soccer Academy.

Changed names:

Two academies were allowed to changed names. Free-kick soccer academy moulted from Uganda Support Soccer Academy.

In the same vein, Next Generation Soccer Academy was permitted to change from Kireka Soccer Academy.

Meanwhile, the executive body request Walugembe Memo Snipers requested to change their name.

At the same time, Lugazi Soccer Academy was accepted back following years without subscription.

UYFA U-15 national championship:

UYFA will hold the inaugural national U-15 championship that will be hosted by the Eastern Region Football Association.

Also, the annual UYFA activity calendar for the year 2022 was released.
