Nabbumba, a She Corporate women football club attacking midfielder claimed the accolade that also comes with cash after scoring six goals and assisting five times as the Ugandan club engaged in the CAF Champions league games in Dar es salaa city, Tanzania.

“I am honored to win this award. I thank my teammates, coaches and fans for the support. This award further motivates me to work harder, score and assist like I am used to do” Nabbumba remarked as she picked her branded accolade at Route 256 Restaurant in Lugogo.

She Corporate played second fiddle to champions Simba Queens and narrowly missed the slot to the treasured Africa Women Champions League.

Nabbumba beat off competition from dread-locked forward Daniel Muzeyi Sserunkuma and exciting teenager Travis Mutyaba.

Sserunkuma was scorer of a hat-trick in the Bika Bya Baganda semi-final duel for his Ndiga clan against Ffumbe as the former qualified for the final.

Mutyaba netted Uganda Cranes’ lone strike against Tanzania Taifa Stars in the opening leg of the CHAN 2023 qualifier at the National Stadium, Dar es salaam.

Double commonwealth medalist Jacob Kiplimo (Athletics), JKL Lady Dolphins player Brenda Ekone was recognized in Basketball, the crew of Duncan Mubiru Kikankane & Musa Nsubuga in motorsport and para-swimmer Husnah Kukundakwe was the outstanding swimmer in the month.

Ekone was picked ahead of Ninette Uwineza and Isiah Mabeny.

Kukundakwe scooped as many as 6 medals; 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze during the World Islamic Games in Konya, Turkey.

She easily beat off the sibling swimmers Kirabo Namutebi and Tendo Mukalazi.

The rally crew of Duncan Mubiru Kikankane & Musa Nsubuga won the Masaka Rally and were picked as winners ahead of Mukula and Kiyingi as well as Ronald Ssebuguzi and Mugambwa.

Long distance athlete Jacob Kiplimo, winner of two medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham beat off Abel Chebet and Peruth Chemutai.
