Goalkeeper Giosue "Gio" Bellagambi, 21, is capped once for the senior Uganda national football team (Uganda Cranes)
English league two side Salford City Football Club has acquired Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Giosue Bellagambi on loan.
The Greater Manchester based club acquired the goalkeeper on a loan move until the end of the season.
Christened as “Gio” Bellagambi, 21 was a regular for Huddersfield Town U-17 team and also played for the club’s U-19 team in the 2019-2020 season as he continued with development.
The Croydon born goalkeeper has expressed happiness upon the move to Salford City.
“I am delighted to join Salford City Football Club on loan until the end of the season. The club is going in such a positive direction. I can’t wait to meet the fans” he tweeted after the move confirmation.
He attended two goalkeeping camps for both England and Italy before joining Huddersfield Town.
In 2022, he received the first senior cap for Uganda Cranes in the run to the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
Bellagambi has also gained some senior experience from loan spells at Ramsbottom United, Spennymoor Town, Ebbsfleet United, Brighouse Town and Stalybridge Celtic, while earlier this season he spent time with Hyde United.
