Overview:

The Judiciary’s first taste of these Corporate Games was eventful, winning 3-2 over fellow newcomers Public Service in one of their games.

Following the Christmas and New Year Holidays, the 2022-2023 Corporate Games resumed at the Legends Rugby Grounds in Naguru, Kampala city on Sunday, 12th February 2023.

Among the debutants are Uganda State House, The Judiciary, Ministry of Public Service, JESA, Airtel Uganda, Jumia, Oraquick and media company, Galaxy FM Zzina.

The Judiciary Team

The Judiciary’s first taste of these Corporate Games was eventful, winning 3-2 over fellow newcomers Public Service in one of their games.

A well taken brace from Hassan Fahad and another by Alifonzi Munyangeyo inspired the victory for Judiciary.

Eric Kasujja and Joseph Lujja scored for Public Service.

Perhaps, it was a rude awakening for The State House who were humiliated 0-6 by Uganda Medical Association (UMA).

Dr Robert Lubega and Pius Kabuye found the back of the net twice each.

Douglas Tuhumwire and Charles Mwanika scored one goal each in UMA’s massive win.

Another debutant who smiled with maximum points in one of their games was Kasanga based Galaxy FM Zzina.

Led by Denis Bbosa, Galaxy FM came top over Uganda State House 2-0.

Yusuf Matovu and Bbosa were on target.

Lewis Kiyingi was on target as Galaxy FM edged telecommunications company Airtel Uganda 1-0.

Galaxy was held to a one-all draw by Uganda Baati and lost miserably 2-6 to Uganda Medical Association (UMA).

SCD Darling Team

Other results:

Airtel Uganda and Uganda Medical Association shared the spoils, goalless.

SCD Darling hammered Oraquick 8-0 with Charles Baguma scoring five goals.

Patricia Namaganda added a brace and Collin Bbaale sealed the misery for Oraquick.

SCD Darling also took Jumia to an extensive footballing lecture, winning 8-1.

Usual suspect Charles Baguma, Eric Waswa and Badru scored a brace apiece. Namaganda and Shafik Wasswa netted a goal each.

Uganda Baati Team

SCD Darling beat Uganda Baati 3-0. Shafik Wasswa (two goals) and Charles Baguma on target.

Charles Lubwama scored the sole strike in Uganda Baati’s 1-0 win over Uganda Airlines.

Airtel Uganda humiliated Uganda State House with Eddie Nuhu scoring a brace.

The other persons on target were Willy Edong, Godfrey Oryema, Steven Sembatya and Erick Gudoi.

Uganda Airlines defeated Oraquick 9-1 as Jimmy Opio led the show with a beautiful hattrick and Joan Namujja finding a brace. Akim (2), Dan and Sendagire were also on target.

JESA and Joint Medical Stores (JMS) failed to find the back of the net.

C-Care was in demolition mood, outsmarting Jumia 7-0.

Livingstone Kalangala and Justine Namukasa each scored two goals apiece.

Alex Musoke, Gerald Kimugu and George Mubiru were also on target.

SMART Team

JESA and SMART played to a 1-all draw.

Judiciary fell 0-5 to C-Care, SMART lost 0-6 to Joint Medical Stores (JMS) and SCD Darling edged Uganda Airlines 2-0.

Ceaser Mboyo (2) and Hassan Fahad scored in Judiciary’s 3-2 victory against Internal Affairs.

Airtel Uganda beat Jumia 4-0 with Vincent Yiga scoring a brace as Hudson Katumba and Gudoyi scored the two other goals.

Games variety:

Besides football, there was also the Tug-of-war, Woodball (training and demonstration) as well as board game, chess.

As usual, Celebrity Fitness Uganda led the warming up session to help awaken the bodies and prepare the different players.

The drills during warm-up were to stretch and prepare the bodies prior to the grueling day ahead that entailed a rich sports menu.

The chairperson of the Corporate Games, Ian Rumanyika warmly welcomed the new teams on board.

I wish to thank all the players and teams back to action. In a special way, I salute the new members on board. The Corporate Games are getting better and better by each match day. I also thank all the sponsors and partners on board.

The Corporate Games have key sponsors and partners as Next Media Services through the NBS Sport channel, Radio 4, UBC Television, Galaxy FM, Baliks Media (event partner), Nation Media Group, Node Group (Public Relations and marketing partner) as well as National Enterprise Corporation (NEC).

NEC is the official water partner that will provide fresh natural drinking water to all participants throughout the season.
