Uganda’s representatives at the inaugural CAF Pan Africa Schools football championship (CECAFA zone) Amus College School, Bukedea have been drawn in group B.

The pool has schools from Rwanda (Kiramuzi MS), Sudan (El Hila Al Jadida) and Djibouti (CEM Baulous).

On match day one (Friday, February 17, 2023), Amus College School Bukedea has two tough duels; against El Hila Al Jadida at 11 AM before another game with CEM Baulous at 1 PM.

The following day (Saturday, 18th February 2023), Amus College Bukedea shall lock horns against Rwanda’s Kiramuzi MS at 10:00 am.

Amus College School – Bukedea delegation left Uganda via Entebbe International Airport on Wednesday aboard Kenya Airways.

The team has since settled well in Dar-es-salaam after a training session.

The troops are led by team captain Shafiga Tamisi who openly expressed the readiness to work for success.

“We are ready to give our best performance when we go out there in Dar-es-salaam. The training has been well and we hope for the best” Tamisi who was MVP in the Uganda qualification games revealed.

Top performers’ purse:

The winners in the boys and girls’ category are expected to win USD 100,000, while the runners-up will take USD75,000 and bronze medalists USD 50, 000.

Meanwhile, Uganda’s boys representatives Royal Giant High School are in group A with E.S Sumba (Rwanda), Geda Roble S.S (Ethiopia) and Benjamin Mpaka S.S (Tanzania).

On match day one, Royal Giant High School faces the host school, Benjamin Mpaka S.S at 11 AM.

The victors will represent CECAFA region at the maiden African Schools Football Championship is slated to take place April 7-9, 2023.
