The Wellness Ug Expo 2023 will be enshrined alongside the theme-line “Empower your mind, Nourish your body and transform your life” intended to fight against the rise of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Uganda.

The Wellness Expo Ug 2023 will happen on the International Women’s Day (Wednesday, 8th March) at the KCCA playground Lugogo opposite the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, Kampala.
This Expo will be enshrined alongside the theme-line “Empower your mind, Nourish your body and transform your life” intended to fight against the rise of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Uganda.
A fully packed menu in this Expo will entail health and wellness talks, free medical screening, medical check-ups, first aid, blood donation drives, exhibitions and physical fitness activities.
According to Geoffrey Mujisha, the main coordinator event will promote healthy living through education, engagement and empowerment.
Some of the benefits from the Wellness Expo 2023 wil be access to wealth of information on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and professional consultation including weight management, nutrition and mental health.

The goal of this Expo is to provide individuals with the tools and knowledge to make informed choice about their health with recommendations on how to prevent Non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Some of the remedies to avoid NCDs is through regular physical exercises, avoid tobacco, alcohol and elicit substance abuse, regular screening, eating healthy (less fatty foods, more vegetables and fruits, hydration).
The Wellness Expo will be free of charge to persons with disabilities, special needs, students and kids whilst each adult will part with UGX. 10,000.
The program line up will commence as early as 8 A.M.
There will be a morning work-out with a Yoga session by Urban Yogi, dance fitness work-out session by Sukuma and a boot camp session by Beyond fitness.
There will be workshops and seminars on mental health (Ms. Leona Buhenzire, consultant psychotherapist), physical activity and productivity in Uganda (Dr Donald Rukare, president Uganda Olympic Committee), exhibitions, bedroom to boardroom – genders roles in community wellness and creating a culture of wellness in Uganda, among others.
State minister of sport Hon. Peter Ogwang, KCCA Executive director Dorothy Kisaaka are among the high profile guests expected.
The event is organized by Sukuma Foundation.
The partners include KCCA, Stanbic Bank, Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC), UNBS, JIBU and ROKE Telecom.
