Overview:

The first semi-final match will see Boston High School, Mpala take on Entebbe Kitoro Lake View at 9 AM on Monday, 20th March 2023. By 11 AM, the second semi-final shall witness Lake View Kitinda up against Kasanje High School. The final match will kick off at 4:00 pm.

Venue: Works Playground, Entebbe Municipality

The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) football (boys and girls) championships for Entebbe zone will come to an end on Monday, 20th March 2023 at the Works playground in Entebbe Municipality.

This followed a grueling week of group stage duels at various playgrounds within the municipality.

The group stage matches culminated into the first knock-out stage (quarter final matches) played on Friday, 17th March 2023

Record champions Boston High School, Mpala booked their berth to the last four stage, alongside Kasanje High, Entebbe Kitoro Lake View and Lake View Kitinda.

Boston High School, Mpala eliminated a spirited Entebbe Secondary School during a rain marred encounter.

Coached by Hussein Mulawa, Boston High endured a tense post-match penalty 7-6 victory that followed a goal-less stalemate in normal time.

Goalkeeper David Mugerwa was the hero with a decent penalty save.

Isma Ssekitoleko, Ronald Muwonge, Kaihura, Cornicous Muyimbwa, Dennis Ssekiyombwa, Nelson Kwizera and Constant Ochom scored their respective kicks.

Only Jonathan Kabuye missed his kick.

“We take a game at a time. We are determined to play our hearts out in the semi-finals as we target defence of our title” Mulawa who has guided Boston High to 11 consecutive titles.

The second quarter-final witnessed Kasanje High edge Entebbe International 4-3 in post-match penalties after a non-scoring draw in normal time.

Entebbe Kitoro Lake View defeated Nkumba Lake View 2-1 during the third quarter final.

The final quarter final match drew a mammoth crowd when Lake View Kitinda beat Entebbe Parents 6-5 in post-match penalties during a contest that had uncalled for stoppages because of crowd trouble.

Epic semi-final matches:

The first semi-final match will see Boston High School, Mpala take on Entebbe Kitoro Lake View at 9 AM.

By 11 AM, the second semi-final shall witness Lake View Kitinda up against Kasanje High School.

The final match will kick off at 4:00 pm.

Women football:

Taggy High School won two of their games; against Kisubi Mapeera (5-0) and Kitoro Lake View (2-0).

Against Kisubi Mapeera, Zaitun Namaganda scored four goals as Kaimait Naigaga added the other for Lydia Nabakooza’s coached team.

Naigaga netted a brace as Taggy High School edged Lake View Kitoro 2-0.

The game between Lake View Kitoro and Kisubi Mapeera ended 1-goal apiece.
