Frank Ssebuufu has left Wakiso Giants Football Club, the club has confirmed.
The Ugandan striker who featured for the Uganda Cranes in the Africa Nations Championship in January is destined to join United States of America’s New York Red Bulls II.
In a statement on the club’s website, the two clubs have reached an agreement although details of the deal where undisclosed.
“Wakiso Giants and New York Red Bulls II have reached an agreement on the transfer of Frank Ssebuufu to the United States of America club…,” read a statement in parts.
“During his time with us, Ssebuufu has played made over 60 appearances for the club in all competitions and involved in several goals through either scoring or assisting his teammates.”
Club CEO Sula Kamoga said: ‘As a club, we are happy with the contribution Ssebuufu has made during his stay with us and wish him nothing but success as he continues to grow his career.
“The memories he leaves us with will not fade as he provided many match-winning contributions, and for that we thank Ssebuufu enormously.”
Red Bull II is coached by ex-Uganda Cranes skipper Ibrahim Ssekagya who scouted the forward on his visit to Uganda late last year and he joins compatriot Steven Sserwadda at the club.
Ssebuufu left the country on Sunday and upon completion of medicals, he will be unveiled by the side in the next few days.
