2023 Entebbe zone sports competitions successfully climaxed at the Katabi Gombolola and Works playgrounds on Tuesday, March 21. Boston High School - Mpala won football and netball, Taggy High School (Girls' Football) and Merryland High school took Volleyball.

2023 Entebbe Zone sports championships:

Football Final (Boys):

  • Boston High School, Mpala 1-0 Lake View Kitinda Church of Uganda

Football champion (Girls):

  • Taggy High School

Netball champion:

  • Boston High School, Mpala

Volleyball champion:

  • Merryland High School

The 2023 Entebbe zone sports competitions successfully climaxed at the Katabi Gombolola and Works playgrounds on Tuesday, March 21.

Boston High School, Mpala continued with their decade-long dominance in the boy’s football event.

For the 12th year in a row, Boston High School Mpala won the football final, overcoming Lake View Kitinda Church of Uganda 1-0 during a well contested duel.

Yahaya Logomu’s 16th minute goal was the all-important goal for Hussein Mulawa’s coached side.

“We killed off the game so early and defended in numbers. I am happy for the entire team and our fans. Special thanks to the school management for the bursary scheme. Focus now turns to district championships” Mulawa revealed.

Boston High School – Mpala earned gold medals and a glittering trophy as Lake View Kitinda C.O.U took silver.

“We take the lessons. I congragulate the winners, we shall bounce back stronger next year. I appreciate the effort of my players for playing up to the finals. At the moment, we shall plan for the district championships” Peter Nkumbi, Lake View Kitinda Church of Uganda High school head coach stated.

Meanwhile, the girl’s football gold was won by Taggy High school.

Attention and focus now turns to the district championships that will be hosted by Kisubi Mapeera High School next week.

Boston High School – Mpala, Lake View Kitinda Church of Uganda High School and Mapeera Secondary school will represent Entebbe zone.
