Uganda Cranes suffered yet another defeat in the Afcon 2023 qualifiers falling to Simon Msuva second half goal as Tanzania edged the contest in Egypt 1-0.
Micho’s side now sit bottom of Group F with a single point from a possible nine.
Here is how each of the players and their tactician rated on the frustrating evening in Ismailia.
Jamal Salim Magoola – 5: Lucky not to concede from Novatus free kick in the first half and pulled a good save to deny the Taifa Stars in the second half before he conceded at the near post from Msuva.
Kenneth Ssemakula – 4: Played out of favourite position but didn’t look phased although he was immensely tested when Msuva and Samatta came his way especially in the first half.
Azizi Kayondo – 5: Had a decent first half but was caught out of position by Muzamir Yassin pass to Dickson Job whose low cross led to the winner. Lucky to survive a second booking.
Livingstone Mulondo – 4: Shockingly started ahead of Timothy Awany and was given a hard test by the Taifa Stars attackers especially after the break.
Halid Lwaliwa -3: Never looked the part throughout the game as he was constantly caught of possession and his defensive leadership was never seen.
Siraje Sentamu -5: Substituted at halftime despite an assured performance against a packed Taifa Stars midfield.
Khalid Aucho -4: Frequently overrun in midfield and always closed down by the Tanzanians and his sloppy pass nearly led to a second goal.
Farouk Miya -1: He was into oblivion for the entire time he was on the pitch. Rightly hauled off at the break.
Emmanuel Okwi -2: Kept silent by 20-year old midfielder turned left back Novatus Dismass. Got more minutes than he deserved.
Joseph Ochaya -3: He missed Uganda Cranes’ best chance in the first half and didn’t have the return he hoped for in national team colours.
Fahad Bayo -4: Stunningly replaced at halftime despite his energy and pace in attack. Lost the battle with Ibrahim Baca too many times.
Subs
Steven Sserwadda N/A: Lasted less than eight minutes after coming on.
Richard Basangwa -2: Tested Manula with his first involvement but didn’t look an improvement on Bayo at all.
Ismail Mugulusi -6: Arguably the best player for Uganda and made a case for a start on Tuesday in Dar es Salaam.
Allan Okello -2: Looked timid and gave away the ball easily.
Rogers Mato -2: Hard to imagine he got a nod ahead of Steven Mukwala just like Basangwa.
Coach
Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic -4: Timid with his tactics as usual and his changes save for Mugulusi were uninspiring.

Hosting a team in Egypt…That was the losing point no Home advantage at all. God bless the souls of our past FUFA leaders – of long ago who could never host a game away from home.
Ugandan football died when we got leaders that are only interested in money. We should be ashamed of ourselves.
Its better we employ our local coach e.g Coach Mutebi Miky, Coach Kabuye Patrick, Coach Basena e.t.c. I don’t think Coach Micho is suitable for the cranes. We are not moving forward. Micho’s tactics are totally poor. We need a coach who is offensive minded and we have them.
