Six countries have qualified for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after match days three and four joining hosts Ivory Coast who have an automatic slot.

Defending champions Senegal, 1996 winners South Africa and 2003 runners up Burkina Faso all qualified for the tournament on matchday four on Tuesday.

Boulaye Dia goal away to Mozambique ensured Senegal opened an eight-point gap in Group L with only six points to play for.

South Africa also joined Morocco from Group K after overcoming Liberia 2-1 in Monrovia with Mihlali Mayambela scoring the winning goal for Bafana Bafana.

Burkina Faso got the needed a single point from their game away to  Togo to qualify as they drew 1-1 with Dango Ouattara giving the visiting side an early lead that Kodjo Laba cancelled out in Lome.

The Stallions now have 10 points, an eight-point gap between them and the third placed team in Group B.

The three join Morocco who qualified without kicking a ball after Liberia and South Africa drew their first match, Algeria who beat Niger 1-0 in Cotonou, Benin and Tunisia who have 10 points from Group J, seven more than placed Libya.
