Overview:
As early as 6:00 AM, the people started to reach the Kids of Africa center in preparation for the early morning run.
A sizable number of participants were involved in the 2023 Kids of Africa sanitation run.
At least 1000 people registered to take part in this charity run whose proceeds will be channeled to construct modern toilets at Kitala primary school and St Paul Bulaga primary school in Katabi Town Council, Wakiso district.

“We had a good number of participants for this year’s Kids of Africa Run. We thank whoever took part and the respective sponsors as well as partners for making this happen. Each of the runners was able to get his or her time instantly – thanks to the electronic timing system available” Semmy Atim, director noted.
412 participants completed their respective race categories with 321 in the 5 KM race category.
13 took part in the 21 KM race and 78 runners were in the 10 KM race.

The limbering sessions were executed by Councilor Tadeo Kibirige (of Entebbe Fitness Run) as the participants readied their bodies for the run.
The runners were then briefed about the routes for the different categories.


Individual runners and those from the different sponsors and partners were engaged in this run.
The sponsors and partners for this run included Yako bank, ROKO Construction Limited, I &M Bank, MMAKS Advocates, Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Katabi Town Council, Kids Pioneer primary school, Divine Salon, Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF), Lake Victoria Primary School, Lukman Primary School and Crane High School.



The top three runners per category were recognized with prizes.
For starters, the Kids of Africa Swiss African children’s village is located in Bwerenga, Katabi Town Council in Wakiso district (4 KM off the Entebbe road).It is a children’s home responsible for raising 108 vulnerable children who are accommodated in 10 homes with foster mothers caring for them.


The previous projects were undertaken to construct modern toilets with 14 stances in Bugiri primary school and St Luke primary school.
The official cool-down session was also led by councilor Kibirige.
