Kutchi Tigers survived a rare guard effort from Nyakasura’s bowling to close out a routine three-wicket win and keep a tight leash on third place.

Innocent Mwebaze (4/27) was superb for Nyakasura but anything less than 100 was never going to trouble the Kutchi Tigers.

Nyakasura playing their second last game of the season remains in 6th place, tied on the same number of points as Wanderers who are in 5th but with the latter having a better Net Run Rate.

Tornado kept their second place with a solid performance against Soroti City. Half-centuries from U-19 youngsters Jaffar Ochaya (65) and Musa Majid (61) helped them post a strong total and despite the resilience of Ogwang Wilfred (60) the visitors from the East fell short by 59 runs. Tornado keep their promotion hopes alive with the win but have played a game more than third-placed Aziz Damani Ismaili while Soroti City remained rooted at the bottom with that loss.

Strikers got back to winning ways with a 29-run win over SKLPS at the Budo Cricket Oval. Rogers Olipa (81) and Victor Kainerugaba (57) struck half-centuries to help Strikers post a competitive 206 on a very small ground. SKLPS threw jabs but ran out of resources with the target within sight.

Premier visited JACC and collected maximum points with the biggest margin of victory during the weekend. Captain Farid Dinani (87) led the way with a well-crafted half-century at the back end of the innings as Premier made some movements on the championship log with that win.
