Cricket Cranes Tour To India
Game 3: Uganda v Omtex ICWC
- Omtex ICWC 154/7
- Uganda 152/8
Henry Ssenyondo 3/29
Ronald Lutaaya 41
Kenneth Waiswa 25
Omtex ICWC won by 2 runs
Cricket Cranes went down fighting in their third T20 tour game in India falling just short in the run chase.
Uganda won the toss and elected to field first and had the hosts in a tangle early on until a late blitz helped them to get to 154/7 from their 20 overs. Henry Ssenyondo (3/29) was the pick of the bowlers with Jonathan Ssebanja (1/29) and Innocent Mwebaze (1/15) among the wickets as well.
In the run chase, Ronald Lutaaya (41) anchored most of the innings with wickets falling around him but he got some support from Kenneth Waiswa (25) and a late blitz from Frank Nsubuga (19) made things interesting at the back end but it wasn’t enough for him to close out the game.
The Cricket Cranes lost their third game on their 12-day training tour to India but still drew on a lot of positives, especially with the bat. The bowling is still leaking all of the runs and that is what will give Captain Brian Masaba some sleeplessness as they continue to figure out how to be potent before the World Cup.
The team will take a much-needed break tomorrow before they come back into action on Monday.
