URA FC registered their first away win this season on Friday after overcoming Gaddafi FC at the Gaddafi Arena in Jinja.
The Tax Collectors earned a 1-0 win to begin the second round of the 2023/24 season on an impressive note.
The lone goal of the game came from Norman Namanya who tapped home Laban Tibiita’s well laid ground cross.
The goal came at the half hour mark when defender Ronald Bithum lost possesion to Tibiita who laid a low cross for dashing Namanya to connect home past goalkeeper Andrew Ssekandi.
Despite bolstering their squad with several new arrivals in the mid season transfer window, Gaddafi FC still looked lethargic and failed to find a breakthrough against URA FC.
The result means URA FC move to seventh place on 24 points while Gaddafi FC remain engulfed in the relegation mix, occupying 13th position on 16 points, one adrift of the red zone.
