The transformation is normally not a mere “walk in the park” task nor achievable in a day.

Nakawa West Constituency Member of Parliament Hon. Joel Besekezi Ssenyonyi is a leader with all the aforementioned components.

Sports-wise, Hon. Ssenyonyi has committed self to witness a reformed Nakawa West constituency, a hub famous for producing successful sports personalities in football, rugby, netball, boxing, cycling, table tennis, tennis, hockey and other games.

“I want to see a better Nakawa West in sports. This will be the multiplier effect to the rest of Kampala and the entire country. Sports needs better facilities, coaches and more investment will yield better players” Hon. Ssenyonyi boldly attests.

Hon. Ssenyonyi, also the leader of opposition in the national parliament and official spokesperson of the National Unity Platform (NUP), has also organized the annual Joel Ssenyonyi Easter tournament.

In this particular tournament, teams within Nakawa West constituency are vying for sporting supremacy.

All the different zones as Kamwokya Mulimira, Banda, Kiwatule, Butukirwa and others have brought teams to compete at the different grounds as Butukirwa, Arab ground (Kiwatule) and others.

In some of the games played; Masinya and Kinubi Island played to a one-all stalemate at the Butukirwa playground.

Kisota lost 1-2 to Madi Urban in the subsequent duel. Martin Onyango and Denis Amaza found the strikes for Madi Urban. Ronald Odudi got the consolation for Kisota.

Nsiimbi – Ziwome edged Kiwalimu 2-1. The Banda derby between Banda Heroes and Banda Kasenyi was won by the former 1-0.

Another Banda entity, Banda Select was held to a two-all draw with Ssale Tiles.

In one completely sided duel; Bukoto Mosque humiliated Kiwatule 21-00.

The games will continue through February and March 2024 until the final on Easter day.
