It is advantage Makerere University over Uganda Christian University (UCU) after the first quarter final leg of the 2023-2024 edition.

Makerere University won the contest 2-1 in a rare duel played over two days at the Makerere University playground.

On Thursday, the game was prematurely halted in the 34th minute; tied at 1-goal apiece after heavy rains.

Musa Male scored Makerere University’s opening goal after 18 minutes.

UCU skipper Geoffrey Gagganga found the equalizer 12 minutes later to bring the game even.

The continuation of this match was executed on Friday morning on a soft ground in the 35th minute until the end of the first half with no other goal.

Makerere University scored the winner through Nicholas Ddungu in the 74th minute.

The return leg will be hosted by Uganda Christian University in Mukono come the near future.
