With his name already written among the champions from two different countries, Yasin Nasser continues to spread his wings in search of another title in a different country. And now Kenya is in sight for him.

Nasser and co-driver Joseph Kamya in a Ford Fiesta rally2 will initiate their bid for the 2024 Kenyan Rally Championship title which kicks off on Saturday in Eldoret.

“I am not so new to the Kenyan championship. What is new, is that I will be competing for the title this time round,” said Nasser.

“This is a decision that was made by the team because we realised there could be some advantages for us. We still need to learn a few technicalities on the car and Kenyan will give us some grounds to achieve that,” he added.

Nasser heads to Kenya as the reigning champion for both the Tanzania and Uganda rally championships.

“It is unfortunate, that the Kenyan championship is not like before were competition was so tight and could push one to the edges.

“But I believe even the few drivers that will be taking part this weekend will be having the same ambitions as we do. So we intend to compete,” he added.

Nasser commenced his rallying career in Tanzania with the 2015 Tanzania round of the ARC. He later put focus on the Uganda championship where he secured his maiden title in 2019.

The Eldoret Rally consists of six stages covering a total competitive distance of 139.92 kilometres.
