SL Development won by 7 wickets

Cricket Cranes look to have settled into second and third gear with the bat but continue to struggle with the ball on their training tour to Sri Lanka.

In the 3rd T20 match, Simon Ssesazi (70) got some runs for the team and his opening partner Roger Mukasa (38) also got a start as they two continue to work well together but they didn’t get enough support from the rest of the line up as the team finished on just 165.

In the end, that was not enough as the hosts dropped only three wickets in the run chase with nine balls to spare.

Clearly, a lot more runs on board could have made the run chase steep for the hosts and in a pressure run chase you get opportunities to pick wickets.

Riazat Ali Shah was able to join the rest of the group in Sri Lanka and was available for selection after missing the India tour and three games of the Sri Lanka tour.

On his return to the side, Riazat Ali Shah got 39 off 27 balls with Roger Mukasa (35) and Dinesh Nakrani (22) chipping in to help the team get 137/9 in their 20 overs.

The hosts were in control of the run chase despite an early breakthrough courtesy of Juma Miyagi with the win coming with 4 balls to spare and inflict a fourth loss on the visitors.

Despite the results, the positives are many especially with the Cricket Cranes scoring more runs and with good strike rates from the batters.

Roger Mukasa looks in good touch but needs to convert the starts he has been able to get. Miyagi has been able to go through four games without a hiccup which is a sign for the technical team as he makes up for lost time. The arrival of Riazat Ali Shah is a good one for it allows him some game time against quality opposition.

There are three more games for the Cricket Cranes on the training tour to Sri Lanka that will conclude on 23rd.
