Uganda Cranes forward Travis Mutyaba made his first appearance as a Zamalek SC player on Sunday against Abu Salem FC from Libya in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The dimunitive playmaker who made a big money move to the Egytian giants three weeks ago, made his debut in the 2-1 win that helped his team to secure a slot into the quartefinals with one group game to spare.

In the game played at 19th May 1956 Stadium, Nasser Mansi scored a brace for Zamalek while Ayhaab Almiqlash got the consolation for Abu Salem.

Mutyaba came off the bench in the 63rd minute to replace Youssef Obama.

Zamalek who won the CAF Confederation Cup in 2019 top group B on 13 points with one game to play.

The Egytian giants will host SOAR FC from Guinea in their final group game on 3rd March 2024.
