Overview:

Round 3 of the National Motorcross championship will take place in Kalisizo, Masaka on 24th March 2024.

In the aftermath of the early rains on Sunday, the second round of the 2024 national motorcross championship at the lake side Victoria Raceway park in Garuga, riders had to endure muddy conditions for their best foot forward.

At least sixty (60) riders took part in the tranquil day-long championship in the different clusters of 50 C.C, 65 C.C, 85 C.C,125 C.C, MX2, MX1 and Veterans.

The 50 CC was easily won by Jude Kyle Musedde as Larry Ssekamwa proved too lethal in the 65 CC.

In the 85 CC,Jerome Mubiru was no match for other riders and Ron Young took the order of the day in  125.

According to Mubiru, his experience helped him to win all the rounds though the track area was muddy and at the first his bike got mechanical problem.

“My first bike i used got a mechanical problem. I managed to gallantly push on and succeeded because of the experience despite the muddy conditions of the race track” Mubiru attested.

Hellen Birungi competed in 50 CC and her performance was convincing.

She is contended of a far better performance in the next races given the different weather conditions.

“I am happy for the performance i had today. I know i will keep improving in rain or sunny conditions” Birungi remarked.

Crowd puller Fortune Sentamu enjoyed the MX 1 with vital results as Geoffrey Kayira and Andrea Martineli emerged winners in the veterans and Masters class categories respectively.

Ssentamu has promised his fans that this year is going to give them entertaining game and he has encouraged his competitors to practice more in order to become champions.

“It was a perfect round, full of entertainment” Ssentamu noted. “I promise my fans to keep coming in numbers because i will keep entertaining in all fashion” he added.

Event manager Omar Mayanja confessed that it was a success as safety was a plus for every stakeholder that attended.

The event was organised by Speedway Motor Cycling Club.
