Ghana (Nusa Momoh & Yakubu Ramatu) 2-0 Uganda (Gladys Mbabazi & Augustus Owinyi)

The hosts for the 13th African Games (Ghana) progressed to the quarter finals of the mixed doubles in Badminton.

Ghana’s Nusa Momoh and Yakubu Ramatu edged the Ugandan duo of Gladys Mbabazi and Augustus Owinyi 2-0 at the Bortyman sports complex in Accra, Ghana on Saturday, 9th March 2024.

Momoh and Ramatu used under half an hour to edge Mbabazi and Owinyi 21-17 and 21-19 as they booked a berth in the quarter finals.

It was agony for Uganda during the other mixed double games in the mixed doubles.

 Algerian duo of Mammeri K and Mammeri T.V won 2-0 over Husinah Kobugabe and Mustapha Lubega (21-10 and 21-07) to make the quarter final grade.

Mauritius’ Paul G.J & Foo Kune K. overcame Uganda duo of Expedito Emuddu & Tracy Naluwooza 2-0 (21-13 and 21-11).

Meanwhile, in the round of 16 match for the females, Mohammed Shamika Fadila beat Ghanaian Torneymor 2-0 (21-12 and 21-10) to progress to the quarter finals.

Another Ugandan, Gladys Mbabazi out-smarted Algeria’s Halla Bouksani 2-0 (21-14 and 22-20).
