Action at the 13th African Games continues and Friday will not be any different from the rest of the days where Accra and neigbouring places have been a beehive of sports activities.

Boxing will get underway in Ghana’s hub of the game, Bukom with three Ugandan pugilists in action.

On the same day, the two Ugandan Football Teams (Women and Men U20) will also be in action for their final Group games.

Here is a look at the Ugandan athletes in action today;

Boxing (Round of 16)

Sharua Musa Ndagire aka The Pretty Boxer will be taking on Nigeria’s Nene Ojo in the Women’s featherweight (57kg) preliminary round at Bukom Boxing Arena. The bout will take place 5:15PM EAT

In the men’s welterweight (67kg), Owen Isaac Kibira will face Billy Graham Nze Sehekina Maye from Equatorial Guinea at 7PM EAT.

The other Ugandan that will take to the ring on Friday is Kassim Murungi who will be up against Timothy Williams in the men’s featherweight category at 10:30PM.

Football

Group action at the football tournaments (men and women) comes to a climax on Friday.

Uganda U20 Men’s side already qualified to the semifinals after defeating Nigeria and Senegal and they will finish Group B action against neighbours South Sudan.

The game will be played at University of Ghana Stadium with Nigeria and Senegal facing off at Accra Sports Stadium.

For the Women, the Uganda U20 Women’s team will take on hosts Ghana in the a battle for the top spot at Cape Coast Stadium.

Uganda needs a point to qualify to the semifinals but can as well top the Group if they defeat Ghana.

In the same group, Tanzania with one point will face Ethiopia who are already out of the tournament with no point collected so far.

Both the Uganda Hippos and the Queen Cranes games kickoff at 11PM EAT.
