  • BUL vs SC Villa – Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru
  • Vipers vs KCCA – St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende 7pm

Early season league pacesetters BUL host title rivals SC Villa on Friday at Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru aware that dropping any more points could derail their season ambitions.

The Jinja based side led the table for almost the entire first round but have picked only win in five second round matches and surrendered top spot to Kitara in the process.

Against SC Villa who lie 5th on the table with 33 points, six behind second BUL but with two matches in hand over Abbey Kikomeko’s side, dropping points is an error they can’t afford.

“We didn’t play well against UPDF and we lost. I expect my players to give 100% in tomorrow’s game and I am very sure that we shall fight hard to see that we get the three points off SC Villa,” coach Abbey Kikomeko Bogere said on Thursday.

“It is going to be a tense game but since we lost the last time out, we are not going to allow losing a second game at home. We shall fight to see that we get the three points tomorrow.”

Former BUL defender and now SC Villa captain Kenneth Ssemakula is aware of what to expect from his former bosses.

“Bul FC is not an easy team to play at their, given the position they’re in right now on the log,” he told the club website.

“But we also want to improve our position and points in the league. We have worked on the build-up with the coaches, and we’re raring to go tomorrow.”

The hosts are without injured Douglas Muganga and suspended Ben Tahomera while Villa miss Patrick Kakande, Cyrus Kibande and Abasi Kyeyune who are with the Hippos in Ghana for the African Games.

However, they are boosted by the return of defenders Gavin Kizito and Arnold Odong who missed the win against Express through accumulation of bookings.

Hot Stat: BUL are unbeaten against SC Villa in the last five home games but both sides share same victories (4) in the last 11 meetings at BUL’s home.
