Jaime Byaruhanga was the top performer during the Stanbic Entebbe Match Play Challenge Qualifier on Saturday.
Byaruhanga returned a nett score of 65 to top the Men’s Group A and beat a large field of 208 players who took the par 71 course in a bid to qualify for the new-look tournament. Paul Habyarimana was runner-up with 68 nett.
Collins Aritua topped Group B with 65 nett while Jimmy Adiga took the runners-up spot with 66 nett on count back. Group C was claimed by Dr Michael Bironse with 67 nett and Alex Mukasa returned 68 nett to take second place.
In the ladies’ category, Harriet Kitaka won Group A with 69 nett while Rukia Nalwoga topped Group B with 70 nett.
No hole-in-one
No golfer claimed the brand new Suzuki Grand Vitara Hybrid staked for an ace on Hole 10 by CFAO Motors. The next chance will be offered at the Grand Finale on 12th October.
32 Pairs Advance
The qualifiers saw 32 pairs of golfers advancing to the first round which will be played on Saturday, April 6.
