Madina Islamic Secondary School staged a stunning heist as it dethroned Buddo Secondary School to emerge as Nsagi Zone’s champions in boys’ football.
In a game that was played at Trinity College Nabbingo, both sides failed to find the back of the net in normal time as the game was dragged to spot kicks.
It was an intense penalty show that saw nearly each play get to the 12-yard mark as Madina Islamic came out of the battle field victorious.
Madina Islamic and Buddo SS will extend to the District level (Wakiso) as the USSSA National qualifiers continue before the real business that will be held in Masaka.
For starters, Buddo SS are the reigning Wakiso District champions after edging St Mary’s Kitende in the final that was held last year.
But since then alot of water has gone under the bridge. Buddo previously part ways with gaffer Simon Peter Mugerwa who decided to concentrate on Police’s fight to gain top tier promotion.
In the same breath, Buddo SS has also lost some of their players such as Elijah Martin Walukagga, Denis Kisiriko and Jamal Ssemwogerere who were so instrumental in the previous campaign.
