Mpigi zone has schools from the districts of Mubende, Kassanda, Mityana, Butambala, Mpigi and Gomba. Three top schools will qualify for the 2024 USSSA nationals in Masaka city.
2024 Mpigi Zone USSSA Football Championship:
- MUMSA High School 1-0 Mubende Army School
- Royal Giant High School 0-0 Kyanja High School
- St Francis Busunju 0-0 Gombe S.S
MUMSA High school has positively kick started the 2024 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Mpigi zone boys qualifiers.
This followed a hard fought 1-0 win over Mubende Army School in group G at the Luganga Town Council playground in Gomba district on Wednesday, 3rd April 2024.
A last minute gasp goal from Cyrus Kalimbala gave MUMSA High School the maximum points.
Elsewhere, Mpigi zone reigning champions Royal Giant High School were held by Kyanja High School to a goal-less draw.
St Francis Busunju also played to another non-scoring stalemate with Gombe S.S.
Match day two will continue with games on Thursday, 4th April 2024 at various venues.
