Uganda Women are still on course for a top-four finish at the 2024 World Rugby 7s Challenger Series after two rounds.

For the final round in Krakow, Poland on May 18-19, two changes have been made to the travelling squad due to injury.

  • Lydia Namabiro, Mary Gloria Ayot, Grace Nabaggala, Sarah Kirabo, Juliet Nandawula, Maimuna Nassozi, Ritta Nadunga, Gertrude Kateesa*, Grace Auma, Agnes Nakuya, Unity Namulala*, Peace Lekuru (captain).

Gertrude Kateesa and Unity Namulala have replaced Sandra Amoli Lona and Racheal Mufuwa who featured in both Dubai and Montevideo rounds.

This is Kateesa and Namulala’s first return to the squad since the 2023 Safari 7s in Nairobi, Kenya last November.

Uganda will take on Argentina, Paraguay, and Papua New Guinea during the pool phase.

The Lady Rugby Cranes 7s are currently ranked fourth in the overall standings; tied on twenty-eight points with Belgium.

Having reached the semifinals during both past rounds, another semifinal berth might just about be enough for them to book a ticket to the SVNS Qualification Tournament in Madrid.
