Uganda Men lost both matches on the World Rugby 7s Challenger 2024 final day in Munich, Germany.
Their results in the pool phase from Day One pitted them against Chile in the Cup Quarterfinal.
Chile won the tie by 24-14 points. Alex Aturinda and Nobert Okeny scored Uganda’s two tries. Nkore kicked the conversions.
The defeat dropped Uganda into the fifth-place playoff where they faced neighbours Kenya. Kenya showed Uganda no love whatsoever as they won it by 48-00 points.
Uganda Men’s Results on Day Two:
- Cup Quarterfinal: Uganda 14-24 Chile
- 5th-place Playoff: Kenya 48-00 Uganda
Thus, Uganda finished the tournament in sixth place. They were ranked sixth out of the twelve participating nations in the overall standings.
This officially marked the end of Uganda’s road in the 2024 World Rugby HSBC 7s Challenger.
