Victoria Sharks and Elgon Wolves will feature in the 2025 Nile Special Rugby (Men’s) Championship.
The Central and Eastern region champions respectively were the top two ranked teams in the 2024 promotional playoffs.
Victoria Sharks, a rugby team affiliated to Victoria University, were undefeated in the playoffs, topping the standings with thirteen points.
Elgon Wolves succeeded in their second attempt for promotion, having lost the playoffs semifinals last year.
The two finished above Gulu City Falcons (Northern region champions) and Kigezi Silverbacks (Western region champions) in the tournament played in a single-leg round-robin format.
This will be Victoria Sharks and Elgon Wolves’ first appearance in Uganda rugby’s top flight. They will replace Impis and Rams who lost the relegation playoffs.
