Abdu Azizi Kayondo is currently employed by Spanish side CD Leganes. Last season, he played at Czech Republic outfit Městský fotbalový klub Vyškov on loan.

In a typical give back spirit, Uganda Cranes left back Aziz Abdu Kayondo has revisited his long- time childhood home in Kyazanga, Lwengo district and donated generously.

Through the Azizi Kayondo Eid cup tournament, the former Vipers’ player organized netball and football competitions, rewarding the different winners.

This was the second edition of the championship as he promised a more vibrant third outing.

Kyazanga Legends edged Kalalankoma 1-0 in the football final with Central Team overcoming Orange Locker 36-13 in the netball contest.

There will enticing prizes for the two winners. A brand new set of jerseys, balls and bull were given to Kyazanga Legends football team.

Orange Locker got a goat for their netball heroics. The outstanding players in the two sporting disciplines were also rewarded with awards.

“I am humbled to pay back to Kyazanga, a place that gave birth to my football career. I thank the members of the organizing committee and the residents who turned up to watch the games. I also thank the players in football and netball for the spirit to compete” Kayondo who was accompanied by Ibrahim Kasinde (another Kyazanga product) disclosed.

Kayondo is currently employed by Spanish side CD Leganes. Last season, he played at Czech Republic outfit Městský fotbalový klub Vyškov on loan.

Since departing Vipers in 2022, Kayondo has featured at CD Leganes (Spain), Městský fotbalový klub Vyškov (Czech Republic), Real Monarchs (United States of America), Leganes B (Spain) and Hapoel Tel Aviv (Israel).

For the national team, he has earned 12 international caps to his name thus far with one goal scored.

He was recently part of the Uganda Cranes in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Botswana Zebras and Algeria Desert Foxes at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
