The 2024 National Basketball League regular season concluded on Sunday, July 7 and the business side of the top-flight season gets underway on Wednesday.

In the men’s division, City Oilers, KIU Titans, Namuwongo Blazers, KCCA Panthers, UCU Canons, Our Savior, JT Jaguars and Kampala Rockets occupied the top eight positions to advance to the playoffs.

Meanwhile, defending champions JKL Lady Dolphins, UCU Lady Canons, KIU Rangers, KCCA Leopards, JT Lady Jaguars, Miracle Ravens, Magic Stormers and UPDF Lady Tomahawks made the playoffs in the women’s division.

The match-ups for the Playoff Quarterfinals series that will be played in a best-of-three are complete across both divisions.

First up on Wednesday, July 10 will be last season’s losing finalists KIU Rangers taking on Miracle Ravens followed by Namuwongo Blazers playing Our Savior.

On Friday night, the match-ups of the first round will take centre stage. In the women’s division, KCCA Leopards who had a superb first round but have struggled recently will battle JT Lady Jaguars who had a rough start to the season but a good second round of the normal season.

In the men’s division, two-time finalists UCU Canons whose results during the regular season are no reflection of the quality of the roster will face aggressive and competitive KCCA Panthers.

Saturday, July 12 will see all teams completing their quarterfinal series opener. JKL Lady Dolphins will play UPDFLady Tomahawks in what will be a one-sided game followed by Lady Canons who looking good for a return to the finals playing Magic Stormers.

City Oilers will play Kampala Rockets who turned their fortune in the second round of the season after flirting with relegation.

In the last game of the day, KIU Titans will play the relentless JT Jaguars who made the postseason in their top-flight debut campaign.
