Jinja SS v Nile – Jinja Oval

  • Morning: Jinja SS 72/1 beat Nile 66/7 by 9 wickets
  • Afternoon: Jinja SS 126/4 beat Nile 74 all out by 52 runs

Avengers v Premier – Serenity Oval

  • Morning: Avengers 140/9 beat Premier 131 all out by 9 runs
  • Afternoon: Avengers 262/5 beat Premier 126 all out by 136 runs

ACC v Ismaili Community – Entebbe Oval

  • Morning: Ismaili Community 129/8 beat ACC 92 all out by 37 runs
  • Afternoon: No Result

Avengers posted the first 200+ score of the men’s UGT20 League at the Serenity Oval in Kamengo as they beat Premier.

Mohammad Aneef (64) and Yashshavi Joshi (85) put Premier’s bowlers to the sword in the afternoon encounter after a moderate morning tie. Premier used a lot of energy in the marginal morning loss of 9 runs to the same team and that must have taken a lot of the squad to be put to the sword in the afternoon.

Avengers moved into third place in a tough Group D while Premier remained in fourth.

In the other fixture, Jinja SS got their first points of the season against travelling Nile in a comfortable manner. Both victories were not in doubt as the youngsters of Jinja SS prevailed with Cyrus Kunsa and Ronald Magezi the shining stars for the hosts.

Nile, on their return to league cricket, unable to win but the return is a good start as they continue to rebuild the team. Jinja SS is trying to keep tabs on Tornado Bee and Kutchi Tigers who are ahead of them.

Ismaili Community managed to defeat ACC in the morning encounter but the afternoon game ended in controversy after ACC refused to take the field due to an illegal Ismaili Community player.
