Police FC will be looking to end Vipers SC’s dominant run in the ongoing 2024–25 Uganda Premier League when the two sides face off at Kavumba Recreation Ground on Thursday, March 6.
Vipers are in outstanding form, having won all six of their recent league games, scoring 11 goals and, remarkably, keeping a clean sheet in each game.
In contrast, Police FC have struggled, failing to secure a win in their last seven outings (four draws and three losses).
Despite their poor run of form, Police head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa remains optimistic, believing his team is well-prepared and motivated to secure a positive result.
“We have prepared very well, considering our performances in the last two home games have been good,” Mugerwa stated.
“Facing Vipers is a big challenge, but it also presents an opportunity to gauge ourselves. The boys are fully motivated and ready to put up a great performance to earn a positive result. These are the kinds of matches where they must show character.”
Vipers currently sit at the top of the table with 43 points, while Police are positioned 11th with 20 points from 18 games.
For Police, Augustin Kacancu is the only absentee, while Ibrahim Sengoba and Obua Kevin have been included in the squad to provide additional options.
