Fred Kajoba Kisitu handled the Uganda Cranes in many international engagements including numerous FIFA World Cup qualifiers, two AFCON finals in 2017 and 2019, CHAN as well as CECAFA championships and many other competitions. He had a keen eye for identifying talented goalkeepers and helped many develop in his epoch. He had also started a training clinic specifically for goalkeepers.

The family of the late former Uganda Cranes goalkeeping coach Fred Kisitu Kajoba received arrears of $3583 (at least Ug.Shs 13,000,000) from Tanzania premier league entity Singida Black Stars football club.

The money was wired directly on the family account, paid in the names of the widow Jacqueline Kajoba, Joan, Joel and Paul on 13th March 2025 via Absa bank account from United Bank of Africa.

The development has been hailed by many football enthusiasts and officials as the right gesture of rewarding the sweat of the departed former Uganda Cranes international.

Kajoba set a precedent as one of the longest staff for the Uganda Cranes having served as the goalkeeping trainer for 16 years.

He handled the Uganda Cranes in many international engagements including numerous FIFA World Cup qualifiers, two AFCON finals in 2017 and 2019, CHAN as well as CECAFA championships and many other competitions.

He had also coached different clubs as Simba, Soltilo Bright Stars, Vipers and lately Singida Black Stars in Tanzania.

Kajoba died on 13th May 2024 in a health dispensary found in Mbeya city, Southern Tanzania after suffering a blood clot and respiratory difficulties.

Ironically, he also died in the month of May, on 13th 2024.

He was buried on 19th May 2024 in Busenya – Kiwawu village in Mityana district, off Kampala – Mityana Highway.

He is survived by 8 off-springs and a widow, Jacqueline Kajoba.
