The Horn Affric Soccer project has been a roll coaster of sorts.

This has been a vivid long journey with great dreams realized after the presentation of the football skills of Somali youth living in the favelas of Mogadishu city.

The Horn Affric Soccer is an organization responsible for producing hidden professionals in the ghetto zones which have not found a place where their football skills can be showcased.

This has made possible the hopes and aspirations that these young boys have in football at various levels from infantry to late teens.

The goal of the Horn Affric Soccer Foundation (from Streets to Professional) was thus achieved.

From merely playing the beautiful game on the streets to now the international level of representing the gallant Somalia country at the prestigious CAF U-17 championship.

Abdiqani is one of the young players who have participated in all the football games organized by the Horn Affric Soccer for a long time.

With the prime objective of showcasing hidden talents who have not found meaningful games to showcase their football talent.

Special appreciation goes to the Somali Football Federation and the gentleman who came up with the brilliant idea of Horn Affric Soccer Foundation.

Special recognition is extended to the coaches who raised him especially coach Awil Hersi Tahlil and the academy (Tayo Youth Academy) where he was crafted and fully molded.

Tactician Awil Hersi Tahlil is one person, among others who encouraged Abdiqani to dedicate his time to the game.

Abdiqani achieved to the brim graduating from street football to the continental level of playing at the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in the U-17 tournament.

He yearns to elevate in the U-20 and U-23 before making it to the senior national team and climb up more ladders in professional circles as a player.

David Isabirye is a senior staff writer for Kawowo Sports where he covers most of the major events.
