Overview:
The Uganda Martyrs Old Students Association Namugongo (UMOSAN) alumni league for season two shall be played under the theme “Unity in motion, reconnect, relive and reignite”.
The second season of the Uganda Martyrs Old Students Association Namugongo (UMOSAN) Alumni league was officially launched at Kampala Quality playgrounds in Kyebando, Kampala city.
The UMOSAN league for season two shall be played under the theme “Unity in motion, reconnect, relive and reignite”.


The league launch witnessed a press conference graced by some of the leaders of this arrangement before a couple of curtain raiser matches were played.
“We are set to roll off in June for the second edition of the Uganda Martyrs Old Students Alumni (UMOSAN). There are a total of 16 teams which we expect to play in the different cohorts” Omulangira Brian Jjuuko, head of technical revealed.


The treasurer of the association Dorcus Nakisekka urged all the teams leaders to clear with the registration protocols to ensure the smooth running of the league.
The teams expected for this year’s league include; The Nova class (2018-2022), Agamba Yasambwa (2023-2024), Last Stand (2007-2012), Gym Telimba (2013-2018), Luseke (2015-2021), Trex (1999-2004), Millennium (1995-2000), Hornets ’03 (1998-2003), Tulikali (2009-2014), Derby Knights (2005-2010), Kisenge Diiro (2000-2005), Mavericks (2017-2023), White Walkers (2011-2016), Jambula (2002-2007), Abafumisi (2001-2006), Musuwa Nation (2014-2019) and the reigning champions Record Breakers (1996-2001).


In some of the curtain raiser games played; Derby Knights (2005-2010) beat the youngest cohort Agamba Yasambwa (2023-2024) with a 1-0 scoreline.
SHACK League champions Centennials and Luseke (UMOSAN league team of 2015-2021) shared the spoils in a goal-less duel.
Quadballo (Budo League) defeated the Elders select of the UMOSAN league 3-1.
Edwin Kansiime Hinda, a team leader from Agamba Yasambwa the youngest cohort of 2023-2024 is humbled to be part of the UMOSAN League.

Kansiime envisages the opportunity to be part of the league as an opportunity to network with the elder brothers and sisters.
“Agamba Yasambwa is happy to be part of the UMOSAN league. We shall be able to gel with our older brothers and sisters, have fun and of course learn a thing or two from them. Also, the league gives us the opportunity to exercise our bodies” Kansiime notes.




Catalogue of games:
Besides the popular sport of football (7 aside), their will be a couple of other fun activities to be held throughout the season as penalty shoot-outs, dodge ball, Kwepena, basketball (shooting challenge), swimming, board and card balls.
The Namugongo league, like most alumni platforms provide the opportune moments for old students to meet together, reflect upon the old memories dating as far back as the school dates, network and mingle as they discuss old and current affairs.





Partners as Coca cola, Tiva water, Kampala quality primary school Kyebando (venue for the games), a number of vendors and others are working hand-in-hand with the management to make the Namugongo league a success.
