Simba is confident of overturning a 2-0 defeat in the first leg to beat Morocco’s RS Berkane in the Total Energies CAF Confederation Cup final.

The Tanzanian giants, home to Ugandan international Steven Mukwala must score at least twice to tie the game and coach Davids Fadlu believes this is very possible.

“The first leg was a tough lesson, but it’s a great opportunity for our young players to mature,” said Davids as quoted by Cafonline.

“We’ve learned a lot and are ready to respond in the second leg. Yes, we entered the match confused in the first 20 minutes, and that’s normal for a young team playing in its first final,” he admitted.

“But we came back well and created chances.”

Davids also banks on the home support despite playing away from usual Dar es Salaam.

“It’s true that we’re not playing in Dar es Salaam, but we know that our fans will be behind us,” Davids said.

“We will fight and play to the best of our ability, and tomorrow, RS Berkane will feel Simba’s strength.”

Meanwhile, Davids opposite number Moine Chabaani admits his side was disappointed not to finish off the job fully in the first leg but is confident they will leave Zanzibar with the trophy.

“We are focused on the match, and we must adapt to all circumstances, no matter how difficult,” he said during the pre-match press conference.

“We came here to play a 90-minute match, and there is no room for distraction.”
