The Rotary club of Kitante held a successful golf fundraiser at the lake-side par 71-Entebbe club on Saturday, 24th May 2025.
As many as 129 players took part in this day-long championship that also kick-started the tenure of Maximilian Byenkya as the latest president for Rotary Club of Kitante.
“I feel happy because we had a very successful function, the annual golf fundraiser.” Byenkya, a member of Entebbe Club for 15 years now opened up.

“We had about 25 teams and many individual players.The competition was tight and higher. It is very special for me since it marked my Installation as president for the Rotary club of Kitante” she added.
Befitting for the theme for the coming year; “Unite for Good”, a number of companies joined hands in this fundraising tournament.
Companies as C&A Pharmacy, Legends, Protea Hotels, Uganda Airlines, K&K Advocates, CSquared, Housing Finance, Timecop security, Aquafina, I&M Bank, Birungyi Barata and Associates, Utel, Cwezi, Uganda Breweries Limited, SM & Co Advocates, Numax cinemas, Stabex International, Sumz, Pinnacle Security and others took part.
The winning team was SM & Co Advocates who amassed 135 points, beating Pinnacle Security (131) and RC Kyadondo one (131).

Edward Kabuchu, Innocent Kihika, Andrew Kibaya and Robbins Mwehaire featured for the triumphant SM & Co Advocates.
“We had a very nice game. Of course, it comes with its ups and down. All the team members were dedicated, competitive and committed.” a visibly excited Kabuchu, playing off handicap 20 remarked.
According to Byenkya, the start of her tenure is fundamentally strong as she envisages smooth continuity for a number of activities and projects at hand.
We want to scale up the activities in Kamwokya, our project area. These entail Water Sanitation Hygiene (WASH), Boy Child uplifting to empower the boy child, education support through donations of scholastic materials (books, pens, pencils) to KCCA managed schools, health support (support of KCCA health center IV and annual health campaigns.

The individual categories were championed by Collins Aritua (41 points – countback) and Ruth Mugisha with 36 points in the male and female clusters respectively.
Peter Magona took the nearest to the pin and longest drive awards whilst Anne Abeja swung longest for the females.
At the 19th hole celebration, golfers, rotarians and other guests networked freely as they feasted, wined and danced till the wee-hours of Sunday.
