Overview:
Mugerwa is a three time champion in this very tournament having won the championship with Buddu (2016), Bulemeezi (2019) and Busiro (2012). At Kyaggwe Ssaza, he will work with Robert Ssekweyama and Bright Nyanzi as assistant coaches. John Billy Lukoda is goalkeeping coach as Leo Ssekamatte is trainer. James Chamali is the fitness coach, Joseph Ssentume as performance analyst and Fredrick Mukiibi as the welfare in charge.
The prestigious Buganda Masaza football tournament is less than three weeks to kick-off for the 2025 edition.
The different teams are busy cooking in preparation for the virgin season by beefing up management committees, technical officials and players alike.
Last year’s losing finalists Kyaggwe Ssaza have officially unveiled the technical docket.
Vastly experienced coach Ssalongo Simon Peter Mugerwa, a CAF A certified tactician is the head coach.

“I am honoured for the appointment as head coach for Kyaggwe Ssaza. There are all efforts to win the trophy for Kyaggwe, alongside my trusted back-room staff members, all of whom are winners” Mugerwa spoke as he was unveiled by the head of Kyaggwe Ssaza, Ssekiboobo.
Mugerwa, fresh from the FIFA elite youth coaching course is known for his wide understanding of the game, great organization (prior to, during and after matches) and passion for preaching romantic free-flowing football (Kawoowo).

Kyaggwe is desperate to win their first ever trophy in the Buganda Masaza cup football championship.
Having played their first ever final, falling 0-1 to Buddu in the final at Mandela National stadium – Namboole, Kyaggwe is eager to make quick amends.
Last season, Kyaggwe was coached by David Katono Mutono who has since departed for greener pastures at three time winners, Mawokota ssaza.
The new season is ear-marked to kick off on 21st June 2025.
