Matchday 29 of the 2024-2025 FUFA Big League presents a do-or-die situation for most clubs.

For those seeking promotion to the Uganda Premier League, it is a make-or-break moment.

Calvary Football Club from Yumbe District is on the verge of being promoted with two games to play.

First, Calvary who are currently on 48 points, visit the intimidating AbaBet Green Light Stadium against fellow West Nilers, Onduparaka.

Then, on the final day of the season (21st June 2025), they will be left with a home duel against Paidha Black Angels at their Midigo fortress.

Calvary could seal the promotion feat should they overcome Onduparaka in Arua on Sunday, 15th June 2025.

Maximum points would take them to 51 points with a game left against another West Nile entity.

Lawrence Olaboro celebrates a goal for Calvary away at Kigezi Home Boyz in Kabale

Should Calvary fail to get maximum points over Onduparaka, then, the mathematics will head to the wire on the final day.

Lead goal scorer Lawrence Olaboro, Eric Oting, Simon Peter Odeke, Simon Peter Odeke, Christopher Agotre, Junior Ojok will lead the surge for Calvary on a territory where the Caterpillars are not taken for granted.

Other matches:

Current table leaders Buhimba United Saints (49 points) need a draw in their home game against struggling Kigezi Home Boyz at the Kigaaya primary school playground in Kikuube district to be promoted.

Third-placed Gaddafi (46 points) takes on fourth on the table Blacks Power (45 points) at the historical Works playground in Entebbe Municipality.

Gaddafi needs maximum points to seal the promotion slot with Blacks Power working for three points away and at least a point in the final game to attain promotion.

Should Gaddafi win this match, they will have secured qualification with a game away to Kataka to play.

Blacks Power’s victory in Entebbe means they will move to 48 points, two better than Gaddafi with a home contest against relegation-threatened Busoga United on the final day of the season.

A draw will mean Gaddafi moves to 47 points and Blacks Power to 46 points with a game to play per piece.

Elsewhere, fifth-placed Paidha Black Angels (43 points) is at home against Kiyinda Boys at the Bar Okoro stadium, Zombo.

Meanwhile, Busoga United (27) will be home against already relegated Booma at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

MYDA (29 points) takes on Kaaro Karungi (31 points) in another relegation battle at the Kongunga primary school in Bukedea district.

At the Ssaza grounds in Mityana, Ntugasaze will face off against Kataka.

With 36 points, Kataka is safe from the relegation talk and politics whilst Ntugasaze has 33 points and would wish to add onto at least a point.

Promotion:

The three top clubs will earn direct promotion to the Star Times Uganda Premier League.

Demotion:

The four bottom-placed clubs will be relegated to the respective Regional Leagues.
