Torching into the new 2025-2026 season, the Venoms plot for able continental representation and successful defence of their league and Uganda Cup trophies.

Some of the chores for football clubs during the off-season epoch entail liaising and cementing their working relationship with key stakeholders; fans, the media, sponsors and other partners in the frame.

2024-2025 Uganda double champions Vipers Sports Club is exactly ticking the right boxes as they plot for the new season where they will also represent the country at the CAF Champions League.

The annual Vipers fans’ cup (normally played in the off-season) is due to kick off this Sunday at St Mary’s Stadium – Kitende, the club officials and some players attend to media visits on Television and radio as the sponsors are also being involved.

On Thursday, 19th June 2025, a sizeable number of Vipers Sports Club players and club officials paid a courtesy visit to the Plascon head offices in Namanve industrial park.

Along with this delegation were two trophies; league and Stanbic Uganda Cup that they moved with.

A couple of speeches were made by the Plascon and Vipers officials before a photo-shoot followed suit, interviews were conducted from the two parties, a sumptuous lunch served and then a properly guided tour around the factory.

Milton Karisa, Vipers’ captain led the fellow players with notable absentees as Allan Okello, Nicolas Wadada, Abdul Karim-Watambala,Moses Waiswa, Sukuya and a couple of other foreign based players.

“We are humbled and glad to be here. We thank Plascon for walking the journey with us for now four seasons. We shall remain committed to executing the best services” Karisa spoke.

Fred Muhumuza, John Luyinda and Ali Kimera were some of the technical officials.

Steven Mulindwa (team manager), Simon Ssekankya (director marketing), Alex Luganda (director legal), Dr. Vincent Sajjabi, Abdul Wasike and Kenneth Muwanga (communications and media) and others were part of the officials.

They were all accorded a heroes’ welcome by Plascon Managing Director Santosh Gumte and his team.

The event was a highlight of the strong bond between the two entities, with Plascon’s unwavering support playing a pivotal role in Vipers’ success over the years.

Since the partnership began, Vipers has secured two domestic doubles, further cementing their status as Uganda’s premier football club.

Extension of sponsorship:

Gumte also announced an exciting extension of the partnership, revealing that Plascon would continue its support for another three years with an investment worth approximately 400 million Ugandan shillings, encompassing financial backing, marketing collaborations, and additional support to propel the club to even greater heights.

As a token of appreciation, the Vipers delegation presented Plascon’s leadership with a commemorative plaque, symbolizing the mutual respect and shared ambitions between the two organizations.

Following the formal proceedings, the visitors were treated to an exclusive tour of the Plascon Namanve factory, gaining first and insight into the production processes behind Plascon’s renowned paint products.

The tour underscored the synergy between Vipers’ pursuit of excellence on the pitch and Plascon’s commitment to quality and innovation in its industry.

This will demand prior planning with beefing up of more players and technical officials to reinforce the team.

Besides Plascon, Vipers also has Hima Cement, DFCU Bank, CL (kits partner) and the family as St Mary’s Secondary School as key strategic partners.
